Cultural institutesThe cultural activities would not have been possible without the disinterested efforts of several institutions that gave their support to them, provided well-informed talks and organized the children's workshop. The performances given on the main stage were directed by: The Alliance Française of Arequipa/ Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano/ Instituto Cultural Peruano Alemán/ Universidad Católica de San Pablo and the Universidad Católica de Santa María. The mini-chef workshops and talks by experts were provided by the Instituto Le Cuisinier/ Instituto Stendhal/ San José Oriol/ Instituto del Sur. Plic Plac presented the "Pasacalle Carnavalesco" for the children, and the restaurant El Tablón offered the "Teatro de Títeres" (puppet theatre). Max Uhle School presented, as each year, the "Taller de los Sentidos" (workshop for the senses) in the second plaza.

Festigloton 2007
Place and Date
The 1st Gastronomy Festival of Arequipa was held between 14th and 16th September, 2007 and was very successful, being the first event of its kind to take place in our region. The enormous effort made and the devotion and enthusiasm shown by the organizers; the invaluable economic and institutional support from organizations and public and private sponsors such as PromPerú, together with backing from different entities, enabled Festiglotón to enjoy a resounding success as a gastronomic, artistic and cultural event.
Furthermore, it also became a new tourist attraction in our region. With more than 10000 visitors at the 2007 event, Festiglotón thus amplified the important interest from tourists that Arequipa's gastronomy currently enjoys.
