The 5th Gastronomy Festival of Arequipa will be open to thegeneral public and has as its main objective the dissemination of the gastronomic culture of Arequipa. For the organizers, it is important that the event should avoid any kind of discrimination; the entrance fee will therefore be very small. The dishes and products offered for sale will be economically priced so that the majority of local people as well as visitors from further afield will be able to enjoy the food, have a good time, and sample the innumerable gastronomic specialities that are to be prepared during the Festival.

We extend a warm welcome to tourists from other parts of the country who wish to visit us at the festival and enjoy the event with its fantastic choice of gastronomic delights.

The Festival will provide an excellent opportunity for all tourist-business operators to show off Arequipa's culinary variety while enabling foreign tourists who visit the city to discover the great range of local and exotic flavours.

With the aim of providing young people in Arequipa with a chance to become familiar with the culinary art, so important for a well-balanced life and its effect on local economic development, agreements have been made with universities, schools and institutes to organize food sampling and to disseminate information, thus creating awareness and stimulating interest in the subject.
